Neville Barker Cryer was a British author, lecturer, and prominent Freemason. He was born in Bristol, England, on January 15, 1924. Cryer was raised in a family that valued education and had a strong interest in esoteric and philosophical topics. His father, a successful businessman, was also a Freemason, and this had a significant impact on the young Cryer's life.
Cryer became an Anglican priest and rose to the rank of Past Grand Chaplain of the United Grand Lodge of England (UGLE). He authored over 30 books on Freemasonry, including "What Do You Know About Ritual?" and "Belief and Brotherhood." His works served to demystify Freemasonry and make its teachings more accessible to both Masons and the general public. Cryer was also a popular lecturer, promoting the compatibility of Freemasonry with Christianity and advocating for understanding between different faiths.
Cryer's work made Freemasonry more accessible, and he is considered a highly respected figure in the Craft. He passed away in 2009 at the age of 90, leaving a lasting legacy.
